Loudest Town

Jump on board as a town to get LOUD

This October, why not get your local community on board and turn your town LOUD for kids with hearing loss? Since 2019, the honour of being named LOUDEST TOWN has been hotly contested, and we expect the same in 2024.

To be named LOUDEST Town in 2024, you need to do the following:

  • Register for Loud Shirt Day for free.
  • Tick the box that you are taking part in LOUDEST Town.
  • Share your fundraising page with members of your town/community and ask then to get on board.

The town that raises the most funds on its Loud Shirt Day fundraising page by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, will take out the title.

LOUDEST Town is only open to Queensland and Northern New South Wales towns.

Past Loudest Towns

2023

In 2023, Yeppon once again won the title of Loudest Town, raising over $30,000 for children with hearing loss.

Congratulations to Charlotte, Catherine & Tim for rallying their community to get LOUD!

2022

The small but mighty town of Aramac took out the title of Queensland's Loudest Town for 2022, raising more than $29,000. The Central Queensland town saw the community and local businesses rally together behind local superstar Emmy and her parents, Kerryn and Sam, to support kids with hearing loss.

2021

Yeppoon officially took the hotly-contested crown of Queensland’s Loudest Town for 2021, raising $26,167 for kids with hearing loss.

Huge congratulations to three-year-old Charlotte and her family for their incredibly loud efforts.

2020

The tiny Central Queensland town of Wowan (with just 216 residents!) then stepped up to the plate to raise more than $22,000, and win the 2020 crown, inspired by the family of two-year-old, Arthur.

Arthur’s mum, Lysandra spearheaded the campaign and inspired local business to sponsor their specially-designed loud shirts. By the end of October, more shirts were sold than the entire population of Wowan! Arthur’s family and community were presented with a framed, limited edition Loud Shirt, which now hangs proudly in Wowan’s local pub.

2019

In its first year, the hotly-contested challenge to find Queensland’s Loudest Town went to the Far North Queensland town of Tully, who ultimately took out the prize with schools, businesses and community groups all rallying behind local hero, Eli, to raise over $13,000!
