Our Fundraisers
A sweet idea that went the distance.
Kate, alongside her dad, took on the Nepean Supersprint Triathlon on Saturday, 29 March 2025, setting out to raise $500 for Hear and Say.
In the lead-up, Kate showed true community spirit by getting creative with her fundraising. She sold bags of clouds and ear lollies at her workplace, rallying support from those around her and spreading awareness of Hear and Say’s important work, raising $561.
Kate’s fundraising journey is a wonderful example of how passion, creativity and community support can come together to make a meaningful impact for people with hearing loss.
Giving back, one step at a time.
Charlie took on Run Melbourne in 2025 with a powerful motivation to give back. Alongside his mum, he completed the half marathon distance of 21 kilometres.
Diagnosed with hearing loss when he was younger, Charlie was a client of Hear and Say, where he received the support that helped shape his life:
“Hear and Say helped me learn to listen so I get to live the life I live today. I am so grateful for all the support they gave my family and would like to give back.”
Charlie raised $1,227, helping ensure more children, young people and families can access life-changing audiology and speech pathology services.
Completing the half marathon alongside his mum made the achievement even more meaningful, a shared milestone that honoured the support Charlie received and made an impact for others on their journey.
Reeling in support for Loud Shirt Day
Led by the Rivett family, the Yeppoon community once again rallied behind Hear and Say with a standout fundraising idea for Loud Shirt Day. Custom designed fishing shirts were created and sold locally, turning a love of the coast and community into meaningful support for children with hearing loss.
The result was nothing short of incredible. This year alone, the shirts helped raise more than $30,000, adding to an already impressive fundraising legacy. For the third year in a row, Yeppoon proudly earned the title of Loudest Town, a true reflection of the passion and generosity behind the effort.
The Rivett family’s fundraising shows what Loud Shirt Day is all about: big ideas, bold shirts and a community coming together to make a lasting difference for families across Queensland.
Quota Club of Wynnum Manly Annual Auction
Each year, the Quota Club of Wynnum Manly brings the community together for a much-loved annual auction, raising around $15,000 for Hear and Say.
Held each September in Wynnum, the auction is powered by generosity, local support and a shared commitment to making a difference for people with hearing loss. It has become a major event in the community calendar and a vital source of ongoing support for Hear and Say’s work.
The club is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to care, service and leadership. Through its fundraising and volunteer efforts, the Quota Club continues to support those in need in the local community, while empowering its members to create meaningful, lasting impact.
The annual auction is a powerful example of what’s possible when community spirit and purpose come together.
